The businesses selected for this live online event are from a diverse range of sectors.
An innovative platform challengng the way sports professionals are managed. This start-up’s platform provides a seamless connection between sports professionals and highly specialist brokers who exclusively deal with the sports industry. This business will target non-elite sports professionals and has formed key partnerships with major sports associations. It is now raising funds to scale up operations.
The vast majority of cabin crews in commercial airlines still operate paper-based processes that are time consuming and error-prone. This startup has come up with a solution to allow cabon crews deliver operational efficiencies through simplified, automated and rule driven workflows to deliver superb CX, retain loyal customers and comply with the rapidly changing rules, policies and regulations in the current climate.
A professional team of athletes and manufactring specialists has developed an innovative method of manufacturing high-performance equipment to target a massive growth in this sporting activity. The company is successfully trading on the back of a previous seed funding round and is now looking to raise a further round to take its brand globally.
Tech businesses face an acute shortage of talent and traditonal channels don’t work. This business is offering a combined method of industry knowledge delivered by professionals to future tech talent. This method aims to service the global skills gap projected to rise to 82m by 2030. The company has successfully secured 2 previous funding rounds and is now raising funds to increase sales channels and target 100,000 community users by 2021.
The event will be moderated by a Panel of four experienced investors and investment professionals to quiz the businesses after each five minute pitch.
Jennifer Richards (Moderator)
Jennifer Richards, an experienced investment and pension professional who has worked in the Irish and international industry for almost 25 years.
Residing in Dublin, Jennifer has most recently held a senior directorship with Aberdeen Standard Investments. Prior to this Jennifer held a number of sales and client relationship management roles across Europe and has also worked as a senior portfolio manager with Allied Irish Bank Investment Managers and Mercer.
David is a Partner at 83North – a global venture capital firm with offices in Israel and London. David was, until 31 March 2017, Chief Executive Officer of JUST EAT, and was appointed as a Non-executive Director in August 2017.
In 2014, David was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Investor Allstars Awards, and was listed as one of the London Evening Standard’s top 1,000 influential people. In 2015, 2016 and 2017 he was named as one of Britain’s most influential people in the Debrett’s 500.
Greg Healey is an angel investor and Co-Founder of Penny Freedom. He also holds a non-exec role with Swansea-based tech start-up Veeqo. As CEO he recently successfully exited a business that provides artifical intelligence solutions to the banking and insurance markets. He has held many senior positions within organisations and ran a £100m private wealth investment portfolio with over 40 investments, focusing on finance, healthcare, recruitment, technology and ecommerece.
Formerly, Greg also ran an M&A technology team and is a chartered accountant training with PwC.
Eamon Tuhami is an entrepreneur, mentor and angel investor with both startup and corporate experience across a wide variety of businesses and sectors. His consultancy, X8IQ specialises in supporting teams and business grow fast and sustainably.
He’s also the CEO of Motivii.com, a technology platform that helps take the maintenance out of managing, improving the connection between managers and employees, boosting performance, engagement and ultimately making work better.
Co-founder and director of TramshedTech, a network of spaces and online collaborations. Louise brings together start-ups, scaling companies, primes and public sector organisations to innovate. Louises’ focus is creating opportunities and connecting entrepreneurs to the support and funding they need to grow.
Louise has recently advised Welsh Government as part of the International Strategy board and UK Government as part of the DCMS Tech Cluster group and also reports to the UK Digital Economy advisory board, specialising in Cyber and Data strategies and wider business growth.
