Dorset Business Angels Network Limited provide quality, private equity investment opportunities to local self-certified High Net Worth and Sophisticated Investors.

We help early-stage businesses, especially in southern England, our local area, to find equity capital. We do this by bringing our investors and entrepreneurs together to accelerate the growth of early-stage businesses.

Join us for networking from 17.15 in The Orangery at The Carlton Hotel, enjoy refreshments whilst meeting and catching up with fellow investors, DBA sponsors and the DBA team.

Meet the Founders- Investors will be able to meet the entrepreneurs and view their products or services before the pitch presentations at the networking session.

Presentations will follow in The Causerie Suite at 18.00 with an introduction from our Chairman, Don McQueen and MD Peter Eales. There will also be a presentation by Ralph Singleton and Anna Staevska from our event sponsors, The FSE Group. They will present an update on the SWIF deployment, including some case studies and a flavour of what the fund is looking for.

Five carefully selected companies seeking investment will then make a 10-minute pitch each, after which there is time for Q&A. Then, expressions of interest from Angel Investors are registered for further action.

Once the pitch presentations are finished, those staying for dinner will enjoy a hot buffet-style meal with wine and a chance to start new conversations and continue those started earlier in the evening. There will be no table seating plan.

Market sector: Point of Need Testing

Two platforms bringing clinical-grade diagnostic information wherever it is needed.

This Company delivers lab-quality results on demand through two innovative platforms.

The first is a low-cost, easy-to-use test system for rapid on-site diagnostics in the industrial, food, and veterinary sectors. The second, currently in development, is a compact, instrument-free clinical diagnostics platform designed to bring gold-standard lab performance to the point of care.

The Company has raised £2.5M to date and operates out of a world-class 4,000 sq. ft facility. Filed key patents give it strong IP, and it has built up an experienced team of key professionals to increase the rate of platform development.

Management now seeks a further £500K–£1M of new investment to optimise the first platform’s commercial rollout and accelerate the second platform’s development.

Market sector: Dairy Free Drinks

Great taste award-winning dairy-free drink with minimal environmental impact.

This Company has launched an award-winning dairy-free flavoured drink, now available in three flavours.

Their products address a major gap in the market, where 95% of UK consumers say plant-based alternatives don’t deliver on taste.

Sold in fully recyclable packaging and produced in a SALSA approved facility, the business is scaling up quickly with five wholesale accounts and two major retailers already on board.

Revenue is forecast to grow by 50% in the next quarter and the management team now seek £100K in order to scale production, expand distribution, and accelerate brand awareness.

Market Sector: Vertical Farming

UK distributor of vertical farming equipment, building a national franchise network.

This Company is redefining food production in the UK with its advanced aeroponic indoor vertical farming systems.

Such a system provides scalable, soil-free farming solutions that thrive in any climate — from compact units to full-scale Bio-cube containers.

Founded in 2022, the Company has now had a robust operational foundation and has commenced equipment sales together with leasing options.

Having onboarded franchisees and with a national distributor network underway, management now seeks £450K to meet the rising demand for a high-growth agritech venture tackling food security, climate resilience, and urban sustainability.

Market Sector: Health Tech

An app offering employees and their families 24/7 access to a full suite of health, mental health, financial, and lifestyle benefits.

This Company’s Health Tech SaaS platform delivers comprehensive employee wellbeing support to SMEs, sole traders, and remote teams.

A low monthly subscription allows users – including immediate family – 24/7 GP access, mental health therapy, life coaching, virtual physio, legal and debt helplines, and a discount marketplace with over 1,500 offers.

Founded in 2021 and launched in mid-2022, the company has scaled organically to 11,151 subscribers across 230 companies.

High engagement with GP and mental health services, is giving gross margins of circa 50% and minimal churn.

Management now seek £250K – £75K already committed – to build out the management team, scale up the business and strengthen governance.

Market sector: Soft Drinks

Flavour-first hydration drinks brand raising £1.5m to scale retail presence.

This Company’s products redefine refreshment for a generation that craves flavour, freedom, and conscious choices. Their alcohol-free punches are crafted using adventurous flavour combinations and all-natural ingredients. The mission is to build a brand that sits at the intersection of wellness and sustainability.

Low-calorie, vegan-friendly recipes and sustainable, plastic-free packaging are aligned with the values that matter to modern consumers.

Manufacturing takes place in solar-powered facilities and is carbon neutral. The aim is to build a brand that’s kinder to both people and the planet, without compromising on flavour.

With a growing retail presence, loyal customers, and a product that stands out in a crowded market, they are setting new standards

Management is now raising £1.5M to accelerate brand awareness, expand the management team, and scale up penetration into both regional and national accounts.
