Changing the Faces of Angel Investment

The data is conclusive and the evidence is growing. The funding playing field for founders isn’t level.

A founder is 86% more likely to receive equity funding if they are a white man. Yet female led businesses show returns of 20% more revenue with 50% less money invested.

So let’s gather together and take action to change the face of equity investment in the South West and create a more diverse and equitable landscape for all founders to thrive regardless of their gender or background.

On Thursday 23rd February, we’re bringing together angel investors, founders, and budding angel investors to pull back the curtains and explore angel investment from behind the scenes:

  • Uncover the truth about the equity investment landscape and options for how to get involved
  • Hear first hand from founders who have succeeded against the odds
  • See the angel investment process in action
  • Build relationships with like-minded individuals and perhaps facilitate future investment activity

The evening will be packed full of insights and practical tips to help you to discover what role you could play in enabling the next generation of entrepreneurs from all backgrounds.

Who is the event for?

Anyone who is interested to explore how they could become an angel investor and invest £1000+ into growing startup businesses. Active angel investors who would like to inspire and connect with others. Founders looking to connect with and help build the community of budding angel investors.
