ANGOKA, finalist for UKBAA Awards, leads the way in IoT Security

ANGOKA is delighted to be a finalist for the UK British Angels Association (UKBAA) Awards in the ‘Scale-Up’ category.

ANGOKA provides IoT security, safeguarding machine-to-machine communications in smart cities and mobility. The company’s technology focuses on protecting device identities, maintaining communication integrity, and ensuring data provenance. These solutions create trusted connections, even in untrustworthy networks, making them particularly valuable for small businesses and less developed economies, which are highly exposed to risks due to the proliferation of poorly integrated, point cyber solutions.

ANGOKA has received recognition, including ‘European Cybersecurity Startup’ 2022 Award and ‘Most Innovative Cyber SME’ Award at this year’s Infosecurity Europe, as well as participation in UK Research and Innovation’s Future Flight Challenge, contributing hacker-proof security to the Skyway project.

Steve Berry, Yuri Andersson, Daniela Menzky, and Shadi Razak founded the company in February 2019, and successfully pitched at the HBS Alumni Angels of the UK pitch event in March 2020.

In November 2022, ANGOKA raised £2.4 million in a funding round aimed at accelerating its growth in the aviation and road transport sectors. The round was led by London-based 24Haymarket, alongside Gallos and the Co-Investment Fund (NI) through Clarendon Fund Managers.

In February 2023, ANGOKA acquired R4DARTech Ltd, a leading ground and air transport security specialist. The joint solution will provide cost-effective and low-maintenance geospatial awareness to enable autonomous air mobility systems to navigate safely, even in challenging environments.
