QVentures Invests in Alectro, a Virtual Sustainability Officer for SMEs
Investors in this round: QVentures
QVentures has announced their latest fund investment into Alectro, a Virtual Sustainability Officer for small-medium businesses to track, audit and offset their carbon footprint.
Alectro is bringing climate measurement to every employee. The dynamic online measurement platform has the vision to empower every organisation to become carbon neutral so that they can be climate champions for this generation and the next. Their mission is to supercharge sustainability and offset 1 million tonnes of carbon by 2030.
Aligned with the United Nations’ initiative, Climate Neutral Now, Alectro’s Virtual Sustainability Officer measures the business’s full scope emission profile and reduces it through a series of suggested actions and improvements to drive genuine change. Finally, Alectro works to offset unavoidable emissions and direct a communications strategy for the company to optimise public relations, with the ultimate goal to empower employees to drive for a sustainable future.
COP26 has emphasised the importance of collective action towards climate change, and Alectro’s data models can empower any company to measure its carbon footprint, automatically generate actions to improve it, communicate goals effectively, and become carbon-neutral. The platform is currently in the development stage and will be onboarding current clients in the next 6 months, seizing the opportunity of every company demanding to be in line with climate targets that have been set out by COP26.
Robert Walsh, Managing Partner at QVentures comments, “Following the UK government’s call for businesses to do their part in tackling climate change, we’re proud to be supporting a company that is working to positively impact this goal. Alectro will help companies create a more sustainable world for future generations.”
Bertie Ivory-Peters, Co-Founder of Alectro, adds, “We’re thrilled that QVentures will be part of the Alectro story, and we’re incredibly excited about working together in partnership to help to create the future of service-based sustainability. We’re a mission-driven organisation, trying to solve one of the world’s greatest challenges, and having QVentures onboard will help us to scale and achieve that faster.”
The co-founders, Bertie and Tim have achieved traction by working with some of the UK’s top fintech start-ups such as Moneybox, but also displaying industry agnosticism by working with companies ranging from 200-year-old Royal Societies, through to traditional services companies, and operational companies with large fleets of vehicles.
This funding round, led by QVentures and backed by a number of international investors, will enable Alectro to promote its plans for expansion and generate a series of features that will encourage any company to take its first step towards carbon neutrality.
