Among our highlights we see record levels of investor registrations and amazing insights drawn from working with 40 top ventures selected from some 200. The UK angel investor community should be proud of the support provided to the growth of early-stage businesses. The VC community, which is investing record levels of capital, also deserves mention. Along the way, we have attracted a moon-shot pitch of our own from one of these VCs who can see the potential we have to scale both in the UK and internationally. These are exciting but changeable times, so I would like to acknowledge our 1,200 certificated angel investors, many of whom are members of the UKBAA. Thank you for your ongoing support in our journey and your investment into the ventures we have presented to you.”
In 2021, Stakeholderz has had the opportunity to work with over 40 tech start-ups from thirteen different sectors including, FinTech, MedTech, EdTech, Femme Tech, AI and SAAS, among others, and present them to our high-quality A-list angel investors at our pitching events.
Megan Snijman, Venture Relations Manager at Stakeholderz, said, “The investors on our register have flagged FinTech, AI, and MedTech/HealthTech as their top sectors of interest, and this correlates to what we have seen invested in our represented ventures this year. The biggest ticket sizes have gone into AI and MedTech, and we will be watching SaaS interest closely in Q3 and Q4 as we launch our SaaS RoundTable event. While traction is always an attractive element of a company interestingly, 80% of investment from our angels went into pre-revenue start-ups. When it comes to signing on the dotted line, a superb founding or management team with a proven track record, defensible IP, and a large market can help to seal the deal. What we have also found interesting is that founders truly drive their investment journey, and those that take heed of our engagement advice are the ones who succeed.”
