Applications for UKBAA & RSC’s Investment Catalyst now open

We’ve once again partnered with the Royal Society of Chemistry to connect dynamic chemistry-led businesses with funding and support from across UKBAA’s investment community. This dedicated investment programme has supported 63 industry-leading innovators to date, offering over 100 hours of tailored investment guidance and mentoring. The previous cohorts involved in the programme went on to complete impressive rounds, including a finalist that exited at a phenomenal £623m.

Our next joint event will be held virtually on 3 November 2021, giving selected companies the chance to pitch to our ever-expanding community of investors, syndicates, angel groups and VCs.

In order to be considered for this opportunity, startups must be:

• A UK based company, utilising chemistry based IP as a core part of your business.
• Able to demonstrate some commercial traction either through trials, proof of concept, partnerships or sales.
• Able to justify the effective deployment of investment ranging between £100k and £3m.
• A scalable business capable of significant commercial growth.
• EIS or SEIS eligible.
• Available for an online event on 3 November 2021 (10 am – 12 pm).
• Able to commit time to pitch training and refinement, during September and October 2021.
• A member of, or be willing to join, EnterprisePlus – the Royal Society of Chemistry’s support service for SMEs (free membership for eligible companies with under 250 employees and with grants available up to £5,000).

The final companies will be chosen based on one or all of the following factors:

• Their stage of readiness to present to investors​
• Their ability to convey the commercial impact their IP has on their respective market.
• The attractiveness of the overall proposition to investors.
