Green Angel Syndicate portfolio companies recognised in UKBAA Awards

Two companies from the Green Angel Syndicate portfolio were short-listed for awards at the annual UKBAA ceremony in the Dorchester Hotel last week. Both were successful. Powervault won the keenly contested Best Angel-Crowdfunding Investment award; Vantage Power was recognised as ‘One to Watch’ in the highly-competitive Best Investment in Disruptive Tech category.
This was welcome recognition for the distinctive character of the Green Angel Syndicate portfolio, with its unique specialisation in resource use.
Director, Nick Lyth, said afterwards: “The real value in businesses contributing to the green economy provides angel investors with opportunities in all resource use sectors. It is gratifying when this is given the spotlight it deserves.”
It also marks a strong link between UKBAA and Green Angel Syndicate. Syndicate Director, Simon Acland, has both sat on the Board of UKBAA, and acted as Judge in this year’s awards.
Acland commented: “We are delighted to be associated with these awards. They are the flagship for the angel investment sector.”
