London, UK, April 2017 – Startup Funding Club (SFC), the award-winning network of business angels and seed investment fund, celebrated last week its April pitching and networking event at The Club at The Ivy. In this occasion, SFC showcased five early stage companies ranging from food & drink to housing and tech.

The Soho club received last Monday 10th April a crowd of investors looking to support innovative UK-based startups. The guests were welcomed by Startup Funding Club’s CEO, Stephen Page, who introduced his company and the sponsors of the night. This time, SFC was backed by two of its usual partners – SFC Bennett Brooks and Stackhouse Poland – and a newcomer: Ixion.

Following the introductions, Joseph Zipfel, Investment Manager at SFC, announced the close of the first tranche of the Startup Funding Club SEIS/EIS Funds. The Startup Funding Club 2017 SEIS/EIS Fund and the Epicure SEIS Fund have invested in 25 companies, two of which were pitching on the evening.

Startup Funding Club’s Investor Events are key in bringing together investors and entrepreneurs and, not only they provide great business opportunities, but are also popular as social and networking gatherings for investors. Following the presentations of the five showcased startups by their founders, the team at The Ivy provided guests with drinks and canap√©s to accompany the networking session. The reception enabled start-ups and prospective investors to get to know each other and get into more detail about the businesses.
