The Co-Investor Circle backs online GP marketplace

Members of the Co-Investor Circle (CIC), a private investor network, have completed a follow-on funding round into Push Doctor, Europe’s largest online GP marketplace. CIC members have invested alongside Oxford Capital, Draper Esprit and Partech as part of a £3.5m round to support Push Doctor’s continued growth in the digital healthcare market.

CIC is a private network of individuals and Family Offices seeking to make investments into high growth potential UK companies, alongside an established venture capital manager.
PushDoctor.co.uk plans to use the investment to strengthen its brand position as category leader, carry out further product innovations and to further its industry-connectivity, offering patients a simpler and more powerful set of routes into the healthcare eco-system.

Richard Roberts, Director, Private Clients, Oxford Capital Co-Investor Circle, said:

“Co-Investor Circle members have been very keen to back Push Doctor. The company is creating a digital healthcare brand for the long term that people will turn to for real help. It has the potential to change lives with each and every connection.

“The CIC invests directly alongside and on the same terms as Oxford Capitals funds – benefiting from its due diligence and selection process, institutional investment terms and ongoing operational and strategic involvement – enabling them to create their own portfolio of unlisted securities in a risk managed way.”

Push Doctor allows patients to have private GP appointments online, via a two-way video conversation. The company has a network of more than 7,000 UK-registered GPs, and users can see a GP immediately or book an appointment between 6am and 10pm, seven days a week, through the Push Doctor website or mobile app.

The demand for convenient doctor consultations is growing as health services come under increasing pressure and GP practices are no longer required to provide appointments within 48 hours. Advances in technology have improved the quality of video calling, making it possible for doctors to deal with many patient needs over the internet. Over the past year Push Doctor have shown strong growth in appointment volumes and are now the UK market leader.
