Venturefest’s ‘Entrepreneurs of the North’ pitch in London

Over 150 key players from the UKBAA early-stage investment community gathered in London last week to meet the ‘Entrepreneurs of the North’: 30 growth businesses selected by Venturefest’s North East, North West and Yorkshire programmes.
The event was the result of a close collaboration between UKBAA, Innovation SuperNetwork, Venturefest and Innovate UK. It was designed to help address the issue that many Northern businesses often find they have access to a range of funding at early stages but a lack of options for that crucial next stage.
Jenny Tooth, CEO of UKBAA, said:
“Excellent investment opportunities exist in the UK’s regions and we were delighted to work closely with Innovation SuperNetwork, Venturefest and Innovate UK to highlight this. It’s important to ensure that high-potential entrepreneurs from all the UK’s regions are able to connect with the investment they need to effectively grow and scale their business and UKBAA is pleased to play a part in that.
“We are committed to supporting early-stage and scale-up investment in the regions’ fantastic businesses and as part of this drive we look forward to bringing together the whole business and finance community at the UKBAA Northern Investment Summit on 28th March in Manchester.”
