Innovate UK’s manufacturing and materials competition opens next round

All three applications of the independent consultancy firm, TBAT Innovation, to Innovate UK’s manufacturing and materials competition, which aims to stimulate and broaden innovation in manufacturing and materials, have been awarded funding amounting to £0.5m.

Round 2 of Innovate UK’s manufacturing and materials competition opens on 21st November 2016.

Innovate UK will fund a range of projects that address identified technical or commercial challenges. These projects aim to lead to increased productivity, competitiveness and growth for UK businesses.

A project may focus on technical feasibility, industrial research or experimental development.

Innovate UK has allocated up to £15m to fund innovation projects in this competition.

If you are an SME, you could get:

  • Up to 70% funding for technical feasibility studies and industrial research
  • Up to 45% funding for experimental development projects which are nearer to market

Registration for Round 2 of the competition closes on 18th January 2017 ahead of the competition close date on 25th January.
