These investor events are one of the key ways in which SFC brings together business angels and entrepreneurs, allowing the latteran opportunity to showcase their businesses to a crowd of potential investors. This new edition of the Crocodile Lair was held on the 7th of November at Mayfair, and attracted many new faces interested in the start-up scene.

The evening was introduced by SFC’s CEO Stephen Page and the sponsors of the evening: Stackhouse Poland, SFC’s preferred insurance brokers; Jyske Bank, an international private banking firm; and SFC Bennett Brooks, SFC’s joint venture for accounting services. Following this, the pitching began with Shout Out UK’s invitation to attend their launch event of their booklet on the 17th of November, “Brexit: A Youth Perspective,” after this, five other high-growth start-ups were introduced by their founders.

Shout Out UK were not the only ones to forward an invitation to the audience. SFC used the occasion to announce their December event, which will have a more educational character. The event will be aimed at those who have already invested or are thinking of investing in early stage companies through investor-friendly SEIS and EIS schemes.

The presentations were followed by a drinks and canapé reception that enabled an ideal atmosphere for start-ups and prospective investors to get to know each other and get into more detail about the businesses. Most of companies enjoyed a lot of attention and interest, which can quickly translate into investments.
