Fifty top UK tech startups join SVC2UK’s 2016 Scale-Up Club

Fifty of the UK’s top tech startups have made the cut to become part of Silicon Valley Comes to the UK’s (SVC2UK) 2016 Scale-Up Club. They are some of the fastest growing businesses in the UK, averaging 47% growth over the past 12 months and have a combined revenue of £205m per year.

It is great to see two of our members – both equity crowdfunding platforms – on the list: Syndicate Room and VentureFounders; as well as a number of previous UKBAA award-winners.

SVC2UK is now in its tenth year, after having been set up in 2006 by serial entrepreneurs and angel investors Sherry Coutu CBE, Ellen Levy and Reid Hoffman, founder of Linkedin. SVC2UK is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led, invitation-only series of events that bring together early-stage investors, successful serial entrepreneurs, students and alumni with leading serial entrepreneurs and investors to explore ideas and to ignite local entrepreneurship.

New data regarding UK tech growth over the past decade recently released by London and Partners, which helps to fund SVC2UK, confirms the importance of the contribution that tech startups and scale-ups in particular make to the UK economy.
