New fund supporting women entrepreneurs

AllBrightis a new platform that focusesexclusivelyon supportingfemale founders. AllBright was set up by tech entrepreneursDebbie Wosskow, founder of home rental startup Love Home Swap, and Anna Jones, CEOof Hearst Magazines UK.The fundhas also received backing from the likes ofSherry Coutu CBE, serial tech investor and Founder of the Scale-Up Institute, who will be speaking attheupcomingUKBAA Angel Investment Summiton 1st November.
The AllBright Angel network is a community of experienced individuals who have invested their personal capital into the AllBright investment fund. They are drawn from a wide range of sectors but all share one common goal: to unlock the potential of female-founded businesses.
It aims to raise a fund of£10mby Christmas, whichwill be used to investinthe UK’s best female-ledenterprisesto accelerate the growth of these topemergingbusinesses.
The launch of AllBrightrepresents a step towards redressing the gender imbalance that currently exists in the startup and early-stage investment space, where it is believed thatfemale entrepreneurs receive only10% of venture capital investment globallyand havedisproportionatelylower loan approval ratesthan male entrepreneurs.
