TestPlant Wins Best International Growth Business Award

TestPlant have won the best International Growth Business Award at the UK Angel Investment Awards 2016.
This award celebrates both UK-based businesses and businesses from outside the UK that have successfully entered the UK marketplace and expanded internationally, acknowledging the role of the investors who backed them.
TestPlant’s win was announced by Kiki Loizou, Small Business Editor of The Sunday Times, at the UK Angel Awards, held at the Dorchester Hotel on the 5th July 2016. The award was presented by Irene Graham of the Scale-up Institute (pictured, right).

The shortlist recognises companies that have accessed angel investment, in addition to other growth capital sources, and demonstrated the impact of this investment in supporting their journey from scale-up to global market growth.
The judges identified TestPlant, a company that produces software testing applications to support mission critical business, as one of the fastest growing tech companies in the UK. It has effectively used VC investment from Seraphim ECF and a strong lead angel as a launchpad to achieve significant global growth, with offices in US, Europe and Asia and products in over 40 countries. Testplant, which has also benefited from the support of the LSE Elite programme, was acquired by the Carlyle Group in January 2016, supporting its strategic expansion into international markets.
Hopster, who won the One to Watch Award, was commended by the judges, having been recognised as a fast growing internet TV business. The business focuses on the growing space of children’s education through internet TV and learning apps aimed at 2-6 year olds. Additionally, Hopster has demonstrated its capacity to effectively use Angel investment along with mobilising strategic VC investment to successfully expand its services into multiple countries.
