Adzuna Wins Crowdfunded-Angel Investment of the Year Award

Adzuna has won the UKBAA Best Crowdfunded-Angel Investment Award 2016.

The award, sponsored by the Isle of Man Government, isaimed at businesses in any sector that have received both Angel and Crowdfunding finance to enable them to successfully scale, recognising the role played by the investors.

Adzuna’s win was announced by Kiki Loizou, Small Business Editor of The Sunday Times, at the UK Angel Investment Awards 2016, held at the Dorchester Hotel on 5th July 2016. The award was presented by Nick Preskey, High Net Worth Strategy Manager at the Isle of Man Government’s Department of Economic Development (pictured, right).

The shortlisted companies for this award have demonstrated that they are innovators and have shown the impact on the business of accessing both Crowdfunding and Angel investment in supporting their plans to scale and achieve high growth.

The judges noted that Adzuna was a disruptive and innovative business, focused on empowering job seekers through a new search engine for job ads. In particular, it was recognised that Adzuna had raised a significant level of crowdfunding investment and also attracted some extremely experienced entrepreneurial angel investors to support its extensive growth and scaling. This funding hasled to significant job creation and permitted development for multiple applications of Adzuna’s technology, whilst fuelling extensive international expansion.

Cornerstone, which won the One to Watch award, was commended for its capacity to bring e-commerce and digital marketing together to disrupt the male groomingmarket. The business has attracted significant levels of both crowdfunding and angel investment and also possesses the backing of leaders from the men’s fashion industry to support its growth strategy.
