The UKBAA & Innovate UK Award for Best Investment in Disruptive Tech 2015: Arachnys

On July 1st 2015 at the Tower of London Pavilion, Arachnys was named as the Best Investment In Disruptive Tech, at the UK Business Angels Association annual awards.

Founded by former investigators and staffed by linguists, risk analysts and technology specialists, Arachnys uses human expertise and cutting edge technology to monitor and retrieve critical business information, from 10,000+ sources across 120 countries.

The UK Business Angels Association Awards celebrate the founders and investors behind the UK’s most exciting high growth angel-backed businesses. The Best Investment in Disruptive Tech Award sponsored by Innovate UK seeks to identify a start-up or early stage business in any aspect of technology that shows a strong innovative / disruptive capability, addresses a business or societal challenge and has the capacity to achieve high growth.

The Judges felt that Arachnys, which uses human expertise and cutting edge technology to extract critical business data supporting due diligence, is demonstrating significant disruption of the big data market.

The business has been backed by a very strong group of angel investors to support the business which has achieved a tripling of revenues in the past year and plans to attack the US markets with further product expansion.

Angel Investors included Cambridge Angels and Cambridge Capital Group. Arachnys was nominated to for the award by Peter Cowley, the UKBAA Angel Investor of the Year 2014 and Marlet Corporate Angel Investor.
