Heathrow enables ‘last mile’ travel UKwide with minicabit

Visitors to Heathrow can now seamlessly look up and book minicab prices to and from anywhere in the UK using Heathrow’s website and mobile app.

Following a successful trial, Heathrow has partnered with minicabit to enable online users to instantly compare and book fixed minicab quotes from hundreds of licensed Private Hire Operators around Heathrow and across the UK mainland. The trial saw a clear demand for the flexibility to pre-book trips for within the hour up to 12 months ahead. Over 85% of journeys taken were 15 miles or more and included single and return trips, also highlighting the need for a UK-wide proposition for domestic and overseas travellers.

Our partnership with minicabit has enabled us to easily integrate its single, UK-wide platform to service the ‘last mile’ of our visitors’ trips by minicab. We particularly look forward to extending this service with them into areas such as our Heathrow Rewards loyalty program and new mobile innovations.”
