Angels in the City supports 100 London based early stage entrepreneurs to raise over £30m of new investment

Following its 10th company presentation event held at the City Marketing Suite on the 16th October 2014, over 100 entrepreneurs have now participated in the Angels in the City programme (www.angelsinthecity.org.uk) with 39 of these entrepreneurs having raised over £30m of early stage capital, including over £2m of investment directly from Angels in the City participants. The programme, which was launched at the Guildhall in The City of London in October 2011 is delivered by London Business Angels with support from the City of London, Lloyds Bank and The European Development Fund 2007-2013 It aims to increase the awareness of individuals within the financial square mile to become angel investors and bring their financial capacity and business experience to invest in innovative entrepreneurs with high growth potential in the City Fringes, including the exciting tech city cluster. Since November 2011, 16 investor workshops for new angel investors have been held with circa 500 participants having attended to hear more about angel investing. 10 company presentation events have now been held with 100 entrepreneurs presenting their investment opportunities to the Angels in the City community over the past three years.. Prior to each event. London Business Angels, works closely with each of the selected entrepreneurs, offering 12 hours of expert support. 39 participants in the programme have now raised over £30m from a range of investors and notable participants include Kantox, Hassle.com and Gousto
