Night Zookeeper takes further investment from London Business Angels to increase round to over £440k

London based early stage children’s edtech specialist, Night Zookeeper (www.nightzookeeper.com), has closed a further investment of £90k, including an investment of £65k by the LBA Roundtable Syndicate Fund 2014, which takes the total amount raised by the company in recent months to over £440k. The company, a graduate of Telefonica backed Wayra UK, is growing Night Zookeeper from a simple story into a children’s brand by using technology and storytelling to add value to creative play. The core products are digital games that give children the chance to see their drawings come to life. This new post seed round of funding will enable the company to develop more entertainment focused mobile applications and stories and grow a rich IP suite using internal design expertise.

Josh Davidson, Night Zookeeper CEO, comments, “In this fast moving business environment, Moshi Monsters, Angry Birds and Temple Run have all redefined how children’s brands can be built. Small digital companies with innovative ideas can compete with much larger, established companies for children’s attention. I’m thrilled that we can work with LBA investors to grow Night Zookeeper and further our mission to turn children from simply the consumers of digital media into the creators.”

Anthony Clarke, London Business Angels CEO, comments, “I am delighted that our LBA EIS Roundtable Syndicate Fund 2014 has been able to join an existing LBA syndicate of over 10 LBA members, led by a highly credible and value adding lead angel. LBA members have subscribed over 50% of the current round giving the company a strong platform from which to accelerate its growth and further roll out its suite of innovative products globally. This investment is the first investment by our latest 2014 LBA EIS Roundtable Syndicate Fund, with a further 6-7 investments expected to be completed by this fund between now and the end of fiscal year 2014/2015.”
