Acumen Social Sciences secure investment from Invent Network

Acumen Social Sciences have developed a new cloud based approach to non financial Impact Measurement. This is a rapidly growing market with NGOs coming under increasing pressure from their institutional donors to prove what benefit they deliver. In addition large and mid sized corporates are looking to give meaningful analysis of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Acumen has been trading for a couple of years but wanted to scale up their business.

Damian Hatton says “We engaged with Peter through the Access to Finance (A2F) track of Growth Accelerator. We are a young software company with early stage revenue that needed funding to help the company grow to the next stage. Peter helped us refine our proposition and it’s presentation and then presented us to his network of investors (Invent Network). We successfully closed the bulk of the investment from one investor and as a result should be able to secure a bank facility for the balance of the funding – if it is required. Whilst we were fundraising we also had a short term working capital gap – Peter introduced us to Platform Black which enabled us to factor a couple of our invoices.
