Jo Slota-Newson

Principal, IQ Capital

Originally a research scientist in nanotechnology and applied electronic materials, Jo gained valuable operational experience setting up and working with a number of early stage and growth ventures, before moving into venture capital investing.

Jo has a particular interest in cultivating interdisciplinary innovation, finding pioneering technology applications which intersect traditional sector silos to solve identified needs. Her experience spans industrial engineering, advanced materials, electronics, photonics, medical technologies and software sectors.

Jo joined IQ Capital as an Investor then Principal. She is responsible for sourcing new deals, investment execution and portfolio management across deep technology sectors. She is involved with Closed Loop Medicine, Cambridge GaN Devices, Nyobolt, NanoSyrinx and Porotech. Jo holds a PhD in Chemistry/Nanoscience from the University of Cambridge and is a CFA charterholder.
