Professor Richard Templer

Professor Richard Templer, is the August von Hofmann Professor of Chemistry at Imperial College London. For more than a decade his work has been focused on supporting innovations and innovators that can help us to solve the challenges of climate change. He co-founded the Climate-KIC in 2010 – a University-Business partnership on climate technologies. From this came a specialised Accelerator programme, which is now in its tenth year, and renamed the Greenhouse. It has taken in 159 early-stage start-ups of whom 70% go on to raise significant seed funds. Over $1bn has been raised by these start-ups and 95% of them continue to trade.

Professor Templer is a member of the London Sustainable Development Commission, where he has provided advice to the mayor on the development of London as a major hub for climate tech innovation. He also sits on the advisory boards of a number of climate tech investment businesses.
