Julia Groves

Managing Director for Sustainability, British Business Bank

Julia Groves is the Managing Director for Sustainability, and joined the British Business Bank in April 2022. She leads development of the Bank’s net zero transition programme, ESG integration and acts as champion for the responsible investment strategy.

Julia has been working on building a more sustainable economy for over 20 years. This has included funding renewable energy generation, making finance more democratic and creating sustainable investment products.

Most recently she was a Partner and executive committee member at a UK private equity firm, where she led their transition to becoming a Responsible Investor. Prior to this Julia was the Founding Chair of the UK Crowdfunding Association, a founder and director of a number of start-ups, and she remains an active angel investor in early-stage sustainable businesses.
