Simon Reeve
Simon’s role at The Alan Turing Institute focuses on accelerating the application of Data Science and AI across the UK and internationally in conjunction with the Institute’s many partners.
Simon has significant experience in technology, innovation and commercial business, having worked nationally and internationally in many cross-sector technical, operational and governance roles. He spent his early career in the power sector, including heading international research & development teams in UK, Germany & Switzerland. His focus for much of the past 10 years has been on the interface between research and industry, establishing sustainable commercial business from research programmes, including partnerships in Australia, China, Singapore, Middle East, US and Canada. He is currently seconded to The Alan Turing Institute from Lloyd’s Register Foundation.
Simon is a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, holds a Masters’ degree in Applied Energy and a Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He holds a number of advisory board roles including work in robotics, digital twins, and nanotechnology. Simon is also a board trustee of the Youth Hostels Association and a certified coach with British Canoeing.
