Sonal is an investor with First Spark Ventures, a deeptech fund run in partnership with the Stanford Research Institute and under the strategic advisory of Eric Schmidt, former Google CEO and Chairman. Sonal oversees investments in the UK/EU and US, with a focus in seed/Series A biotech and techbio companies.

Previously, Sonal was in commercial strategy at Genentech/Roche, where she focused on launch strategy for late-stage pipeline therapeutics. She also served as lead for the company’s AI integration into commercial analytics and omnichannel marketing. Prior to that, she has extensive experience in engineering across pharma manufacturing innovation, medical devices, and digital therapeutic products.

Sonal is a graduate of Rice University and Stanford University with a degrees in bioengineering, neuroscience, and AI/ML.
