Chair of Investment Committee, Playfair Capital

Simon Blakey is a British angel investor and co-founder of Avonmore Developments Ltd, where he invests in and supports early-stage UK technology companies. Since 2000, he has backed 100+ startups, with a particular focus on B2B software and deep-tech businesses, working closely with founders from pre-seed through scale. Many of his angel investments have gone on to raise further funding from Tier 1 VCs. 

 He is a board member of Cambridge Angels and serves on the Investment Committee of the Angel CoFund. In addition, he is a Senior Advisor and Venture Partner at Playfair Capital having previously chaired their Investment Committee. 

 Simon brings to the panel over 25 years of hands-on investing experience and a long-term perspective on building resilient, high-growth British businesses.
