CEO, LYVA Labs

Lorna co-founded LYVA Labs in 2021, securing £15m from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to establish a pre-seed investment fund for Health & Life Sciences, Deep Tech and Clean Tech start-ups. LYVA Labs also provides innovation and commercialisation services to businesses and HEIs in the region, delivers national programmes for Innovate UK and plays a key role in developing consortia in key sectors. To date LYVA Labs has invested £2.5m, leveraging £10m co-investment and helped SMEs and partners secure £30m in public funding. 

  Lorna began her career in the NHS before moving into senior commercial roles within MedTech, gaining over a decade of experience in sales, marketing and business development. Lorna then joined MSIF as Healthcare Business Consultant, for the £27m Liverpool Seed Fund, and went on to work as a consultant for several of the businesses the fund invested in. In 2014, she returned to the NHS as Director of Enterprise and Growth at the Innovation Agency (now HIN NWC), playing a key role in supporting SMEs and accelerating the adoption of innovation within the NHS.
