In partnership with the Advanced Propulsion Centre, UKBAA is presenting Mobilise the future, an innovation showcase diving into the power and role that technology plays in tackling global challenges in travel, mobility, sustainability, placemaking and how that helps us to explore the world around us.

As Head of SME programmes at the Advanced Propulsion Centre, Josh is responsible for the delivery of TDAP, the clean mobility accelerator programme, as well as funding for SME-focussed collaborative R&D projects. Prior experience at APC includes coordination of £200m of late-stage automotive R+D projects covering a range of low and zero-emission technologies. Josh previously worked in technology start-ups developing novel hydrogen fuel cell and medical cleaning device systems. He has a degree in Physics and Philosophy from the University of Leeds and has recently completed an MBA at Warwick Business School.


Roderick’s career spans over 15 years of managing, founding and growing angel groups and investment platforms that have collectively deployed over £100m of equity investment in more than 500 startup and scaleup businesses. He started his career at Beer & Partners, one of the first and largest angel groups in the UK, and later helped form and grow a corporate finance firm as their COO. He is now the Managing Director of the UK Business Angels Association, the trade body for angel and early-stage investing, representing over 200 organisations and 18,000 investors around the UK that collectively deploy over £1bn p.a. in early-stage businesses.


Stephen has been active in the development and delivery of technology in automotive OEM, supply chain and start-up companies for over 25 years. He started Hyperdrive in 2010, which develops and manufactures high performance battery systems for vehicles, robotics and energy storage applications. After a successful exit to Turntide in 2021, he now works independently supporting companies with strategy, growth and investment.


Bhavik is an experienced automotive engineer with over 25 years in the industry. He has worked in senior positions at JLR Corporate Strategy, Ricardo, WMG, NIO UK, Penso and at HSSMI. His recent work at the APC focuses on strategic support for industrial-scale R&D, battery and fuel cell technology road-mapping, cost-of-ownership modelling for HGVs, developing recycling business models & advising on grant funding decisions. Bhavik brings a rounded approach to techno-economic analysis, business viability and is passionate about UK leadership in the global transformation to electrification.


A graduate in Automotive Engineering, Dyrr has over 20 years of Automotive based industry experience. Starting his career in powertrain development at Ford Motor Company, in 2001 he joined DENSO, where he developed electronic powertrain control and fuel systems for several European manufacturers. Dyrr held both Chief Engineer and Senior Commercial roles at Ricardo, before joining Williams and has been involved in winning and delivering projects globally in a variety of technology areas across products from passenger cars to construction equipment. He is now responsible for identifying and developing Strategic Partnerships at Williams Advanced Engineering.
