Angel Investing – Insights from Female Investors Event

Despite women being responsible for owning over 45% of the UK’s wealth, only 14% of angel
investors in the UK are women. But when a female investor backs a female-led startup, it’s
21% more likely to succeed!
Almost two million investment-minded women want to invest but are so often put off by the
underlying inequality that exists in this area.

The UEA’s Innovation Funding Team and Anglia Capital Group have teamed up to help more
women find out about angel investing.

The opportunities for angel investing are varied and women can add real value to businesses.
We want to dispel some of the myths of angel investment and encourage more women to
consider it as an interesting option.

Come and find out more!

This is an informal event led by experienced female investors and professionals. During the
afternoon, attendees will hear from lawyers, accountants, angel groups and investors
themselves about how the process works, what to look for, how to invest, how to protect
yourself and everything else you would need to know on your journey to becoming an angel

The afternoon session will be followed by refreshments and networking, and then free
attendance at Anglia Capital Groups’ exclusive April pitching event in the evening, where you
can see how an angel group operates.
