UKBAA launch ‘how investors can support the journey to net zero’ report
Given the UK’s Net Zero week kicked off on 2nd July and continues until 8th July, we are delighted to be launching our ‘how investors can support the journey to net zero’ report to coincide with this initiative.
The report pools together views from across our community on why investors should be supporting the government’s efforts to meet the 2050 target, as well as where the exciting investment opportunities lie. We’re fortunate that the report benefits from incredible scene setting from Dr Rhian-Mari Thomas OBE, Chief Executive Officer at the Green Finance Institute. It also provides an opportunity to hear from other leading investors in the space, including representatives from Green Angel Syndicate, Elbow Beach Capital, Zero Carbon Capital, Clean Growth Fund, amongst many others. We’ve worked with partners to collate relevant, up-to-date data, which helps to further paint a full picture of the existing landscape. As well as focusing in on the part investors should be playing, we also delve into what else public entities and corporations should be doing.
UKBAA’s Managing Director Roderick Beer shares: “at UKBAA we are passionate about facilitating our investor members’ journey towards investing in net zero; whether that entails creating forums whereby different parts of the ecosystem can share ideas or digging deep into, and disseminating, our members’ views. The information we’ve gathered for this report points to the fact that our investment community has a strong appetite to ensure they’re investing in businesses seeking to do good or have an interest in starting to do so”.
