Funeral website attracts £150,000 investment from Minerva
Funeral Zone a website that provides free online obituaries and funeral information for the bereaved has received £150,000 investment from The Minerva business angel investor network. Conceived by Exeter-based, Ed Gallois and Kevin Homeyard, Funeral Zone working in partnership with funeral directors, has innovatively made it easier for the bereaved to commemorate the passing of a loved one before and long after the funeral, as well as help with some of the practical considerations involved at such a sensitive time.
Tim Powell, of Minerva commented that the investment was quickly taken up by investors, helped by a lead investor from the industry, who recognized the value of such an opportunity for an online central resource for funeral services and general information.
Funeral Zone is a free online resource for the bereaved. The website includes online obituaries, memorials, funeral director listings and funeral advice for the bereaved.

The Minerva Business Angel Network was formed by The University of Warwick Science Park in 1994. In addition to a large database of over 150 investors, Minerva operate through seven investor groups located around the Midlands who meet monthly to assess propositions.
