George Whitehead

George was founding Chairman of the Angel CoFund for eight years before joining the ACF Investors team as Partner in 2020. Prior to joining ACF Investors, George was Venture Partner Manager at Octopus Ventures, one of Europe’s largest and most active venture investors. He was the co-founder and Chairman of the Venture Capital Trust Association and continues to sit on the Finance Committee of the Scale Up Institute. Before joining Octopus, George held the position of Business Development Director at NESTA Investments’ £50 million Venture Capital Fund where he ran a portfolio of programmes aimed at supporting growth companies. He began his career as an investment manager at Oxford Innovation, where he managed the Oxford Investment Opportunity Network (OION), one of Europe’s most successful private investment networks, before moving on to successfully turnaround and manage the incubations programme for the University of Toronto’s Technology Transfer Office.
