Simon Calver was CEO of LOVEFiLM, the online DVD and Digital Entertainment Company, which he led for seven years from post VC, backed start-up to the ultimate sale to Amazon Inc in 2011.

In 2010 he was a finalist of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and has completed a book on his experiences at LOVEFiLM. He previously worked in brands and marketing with Unilever and PepsiCo, in charge of the UK business launching Pepsi Max, Pepsi Blue and the development of the Pepsi Music activity.

At PepsiCo he also moved to the US as VP Sales Operations managing worldwide franchise partners and best practice sharing. After Pepsi he was GM and VP for Dell Home and Small Business operations based in Ireland and also COO and President of Riverdeep Inc., the interactive digital education company.

From 2012 to 2014 Simon Calver was Chief Executive Officer of Mothercare plc leading their Transformation and Growth turnaround plan. From July 2015, Simon became a Partner launching the £200m Ventures fund with the BGF to support technology entrepreneurs across the UK.

He was Chairman of Chemist Direct, where he lead the turnaround and merger with Pharmacy2U to create the number on online pharmacy pure play in the UK. and Chairman of Moo.com for 3 years from 2014-17 growing the business over 70% during that period and moving into profitability.

He also advises/invests in technology/e-commerce businesses in the UK and is a speaker on business change, the digital revolution and leadership.
